Materials

Computer with PPT access

Copies of reading dialogue for students


Vocabulary

Paring knife, bowl, grater, chop, dice, slice, towel, blender, sheet pan, frying pan, measuring cup, measuring spoons



Anticipatory

Students will match kitchen tools to the food each is used for using images and words on the PPT, then brainstorm what additional uses each tool may have. This will be done as a full class with participation and discussion.

Lecture

Students will learn about the most common tools used to prepare vegetables, meat, and bread with images to match vocabulary words.

Activity

Students will match photos of food preparation tools to their vocabulary words, practicing their mastery of each word and its identification.

Assessment

Students will work in pairs to practice a short dialogue, then read it to the class.
