Anticipatory | Students will answer the question in their notebook: What resources do you use to find new places to go? To eat? To find directions somewhere? (Answers include checking phone apps, asking a friend/family member, etc.) | 5 min |
Lecture | The instructor will inform students about the jobs and responsibilities of the concierge, what a good concierge can and cannot do, and how the concierge is different from the receptionist | 10 min |
Activity | Students will verbally share their thoughts about how a concierge’s day would look, given the information learned from lecture. Students will then participate in the 4 Corners activity. | 10 min |
Assessment | Students will participate in the 4 Corners activity, where several students will act as a concierge for sightseeing, eating, travel, and events, and the rest of the students will travel in groups to get information about each. Students will write down their decisions at each corner in their notebook, determining the best places, prices, and time of the year to go. Once all students have traveled to all 4 corners, they will verbally report to the class on their decisions. | 20 min |
