Anticipatory | Students will write their answer to the question of the day in their notebook, then be ready to read it to the class: Think about a time you had trouble carrying luggage or bags somewhere. How would you ask for help with your luggage or bags? Who would you ask? | 5 min |
Lecture | Students will take notes while the instructor introduces the jobs of the bell boy and doorman, as well as how their jobs are connected to each other and the concierge. | 10 min |
Activity | Students will verbally describe the bell boy and doorman’s job, as well as how each might answer a guest’s question given a prompt. Given a series of questions, students will identify which job, the bell boy or doorman’s, the question is describing. | 10 min |
Assessment | Students will work in partners to read and act out a dialogue between a guest and bell boy/doorman. They will then be prepared to perform their dialogue for the class in English. If time allows, students will play the review vocabulary game, Lightning. | 15 min |
