Students will practice following directions by listening and dancing to a song.

Lecture

The lecture will focus on giving and asking for directions. Students will use cardinal directions and words like stop, go, left, right, forward, and backward.

Activity 1

Country Map








Students will locate states on a map using directions.


Get the Cheese








Students will guide a mouse through two mazes using their new vocabulary.

Activity 2

Students will work with teams to give directions to a blindfolded student. The goal is to find a hidden object in the room.

Activity 3

City Map








Students receive a “You’re located here” part of the map and a destination. The students must then write up directions on how to get to the destination in groups.








A couple groups share directions to entire class.
